Activation!

iBBM on the iPad 2!

Q & A About iBBM

Hi,

As we are still in early stages of development (Alpha) we can only post limited updates on iBBM. We've had quite a few questions which will be answered in this post.

What is iBBM?

iBBM is the sibling of Blackberry Messenger. iBBM allows users on many iOS devices to communicate with Blackberry users who have BBM through BBM.

When will iBBM be available and where?

It is very hard to predict when iBBM will be available as it is still in very early stages of development, with only one developer. Once the app has been through testing and is ready to be published we are hoping to get it on Cydia. We've looked into releasing it on the App Store but we have a feeling that it will most likely be rejected.

Who is developing iBBM and why?

The iDevTeam are developing iBBM. We are doing this because we have had Blackberry(s) previously, and want the Blackberry Messenger service on our iOS devices.

Can I help or join the development program?

You definitely can! We are looking for:

  • iPhone developers
  • Blackberry developers
  • Graphic designers
  • Alpha/Beta testers
Oh yeah! What about the price?

We are still unsure about the price. We are thinking of having two versions, one free (with limited functionality) and another costing £0.69 (full functionality). That 69p will help to fund development and will take care of servers involved in exchanging messages.

Lastly, will this app come to the Android OS?

Of course! We are looking to branch into many OS'. iOS is our main priority.

Over the next few days we'll post some images of the app so far.

Peace and love from the iDevTeam!
